I do not want to use the extension part from Rovers North/ARB or cut into the AC surround.
MY ARB with the extension sticks out too far!
No. You'll have to modify.

Get a used nose extension piece and cut that for the winch, keep your original nose piece if you want to retain the "stock" pieces.
Nothing mechanical needs to be moved, its just the fiberglass piece that needs to be cut away.

Extensions will not work due to the way the skid plate mounts.

Bumpers design and testing is all done. Our order is being built now and shipped as soon as they are powder coated. Hopefully on the water in just a few weeks.
No pricing until they are landed and all associated costs with crates and such are worked out.

Thanks

Will the front skid plates be sold with the bumpers or additional cost?

From us the skid plate and bumper will be a complete package. You will not be able to buy just the bumper.
The pieces were designed to work together so that is how we will be selling them.

The reason SD lists is differently is that the skid plates are something we make here at ECR, so until SD makes and sorts that part in the UK they can't offer the entire package.

That is good to hear, the bumper looks unfinished without the skid plate.

I understand the bumper is designed for the M6000, M8000, XD9000, XD9000i & 9.5XP... of those models which, if any will require bodywork trimming on a NAS 90?

Not sure about the M6000? not a winch we have ever fitted.

On a standard NAS 90 you can run any of those winches without any cutting of the body.

It is only the NAS 110 with the extended nose piece that requires trimming.

------ Follow up post added October 18th, 2011 01:52 PM ------

Also, just FYI, the picture that SD picked off our web site shows a custom front bumper we made that has a front Hi-Lift mount (to carry a Hi-Lift on the top of the bumper).

That is not part of the standard bumper.

That images also shows our old bolt on recovery points. The recovery points are now welded in, but still take a 5/8" shackle.

Sounds good... I am looking forward to ordering.

Getting lots of questions off line:
-Only the extended nose Defenders need to have body trimming. Image attached. You can see the winch is set back into the grill. The grill and the grill surround both need cutting. The stand up winches like the XD9000i will not work on the extended nose Defenders (most commonly found on 110s). This image shows a XD9000 and we hide the control box and mount the remote plug on the body. If you don't run the 3 lights you can mount the control box on the middle lamp mount.

-Just like the old SG bumpers you have to cut the 2 bottom jack horns off the front of the frame in order to install the bumper.

-These bumpers have been installed by us on NAS 110s (extended nose) and NAS 110s that we have converted to 300 Tdi and Td5 by us (both Tdi and Td5 5 speeds and automatics).

-We have not tried to install one of these on a Puma 110. What issues you will have (if any) we don't have those answers. If someone wants to bring us a Puma 110 we will gladly look at it to see if there will be any issues.

Thanks!

Any chance Santa could make a stop in Maine to pick one of these bumpers up, or should I head to the FFL

Get back to me when you prototype and produce a custom piece that has to fit perfectly from an overseas source.

Container has landed and is awaiting Xray and customs. We hope to see it soon.

Absolutely, but it will lower ECR standards. You are aware they have high standards on everything that they do. Plus the product will be made in C**na (and you don't want that....)

Mike, what would the price differential been had you made these in the United States? How cool would that be to see "Made in the USA" or "Built not Bought" on these things.

We tired the USA route. It was triple the price.
Having Safety Devices do it was still not cheap, but made it possible.
We have built them here at ECR for years, but we needed our shop time to be building trucks, not building bumpers (plus they cost too much when we did them).

Ya gotta give up on the China bashing sooner or later. Steel is steel and welding is welding and if it can be done in China for less then that's just tough for the rest of the world. Believe it or not you can get high quality products of of that country. I too used to be a hater, but not any more. Should we be angry that we are no longer a producer nation and are now a consumer nation?
