New SD roof rack system

Images attached of the new rack that Safety Devices is making. This is the Euro 110 version. There will be D90, D110, D110 double cab (crew cab), and Disco/LR3/LR4 versions/lengths. There will be numerous options and we are working closely with them and there will be NAS Defender options as well.
The standard finish is electro-galvanisation with a black satin powder coat on top - rust proof but maintains a very smooth surface finish. There are a couple different flooring options as well as different side rail options.
More data on pricing and such soon, but wanted to let folks know what is coming.

I heard SD was making a full internal cage or they mention it in some article in LRO. You working on that?

No full internal for Defenders. There is not enough foot room for the front legs. (yours or the cages).

Yes. Its already done. It looks just like the original NAS ST/SW unit only the rounded basket gets replaced by the basket style you see above.

First units should be shipping in late Oct. and the NAS versions are exclusive.

Also, for those who bought original SD racks from ECR and like this basket better, we will be offering the new baskets to those customers at cost.

First ones should land at ECR in late Oct. First batch won't be done until mid-Oct.
No costs have been set yet, but they want to compete with other units, so it should be in line.

Any stats on the height for those of us with short garage doors. Looks like the basket isn't as tall...

On a 90 ST it will drop a couple inches.

We are working on a 90 SW option that will just bolt to the roof rails instead of needing the rear ladder system.

Our test units will arrive in Oct and then we will mock up a bunch of stuff on NAS trucks.

Yes, there will be a NAS soft top version.
The prototype is on our next container that leaves the UK on 12/15.

The NAS 90 soft top unit will be much like the old version, just with this different basket.

Good news is that the new design will make it so that NAS 90 Wagons will now be gutter mount. No more need for the rear ladder system. Also same rack will fit Euro and ROW 90 Wagons.
