Limited Alu-Box Group Buy Event

Tiktaalik and Defenders Northwest have joined forces to offer all Defender Source members a limited opportunity to buy Alu-boxes at group pricing. We were only planning to bring in a few for evaluation but in talking to Ole at Alu-box we got so excited that we decided to arrange a group buy. We will be offering 3 sizes of the high quality PRO version and the quantities are limited. Group Pricing will be announced this Friday. Please note that shipping cost is not included and will be billed on delivery once the boxes arrive at the warehouse and are repacked for delivery to you. Free pick up in the Seattle and Portland area.

The three sizes offered in this group buy are:

A042: Volume: 42 Liter, Size: 58cm (L) x 38cm (W) x 24cm (H),Weight: 4.7kg
A073: Volume: 73 Liter, Size: 58cm (L) x 38cm (W) x 40cm (H), Weight: 5.5kg
A081: Volume: 81 Liters, Size: 78cm (L) x 38cm (W) x 33cm (H), Weight: 6.2kg

We have a limited supply of 8 of the A042 cases, 8 of the A072 cases and 6 of the A081 cases coming in.

Features:
• Spring loaded insulated handles.
• A rubber gasket outlines the rim opening to make them IP54 rated (dust and water resistant).
• Heavy Duty Cast aluminum corners for protection and stacking.
• All internal seams on these cases are sealed with silicone.
• Lock options available.

Aluminum cases are superior because:
• They are much lighter than steel and Pelican cases. They weigh 1/3 the weight of steel and has a very high structural rigidity.
• They are not only of superior strength but look & feel rugged and wears really nicely. The longer in use, the more they develop a nice patina.
• Aluminum provides a very high size to volume ratio. Maximum protection with the least wall thickness.
• Aluminum is immune to temperature. No changes in material characteristics.
• Aluminum is immune to water vapor and will not rust.

Get on the list while they last!

Very much looking forward to adding these to the store - and the only request for the group buy folks is a photo of the box in or on your truck…

We are working to offer pricing that is at least 25% off of MSRP

Which box fits best in the tub of a 90? By "best" I mean the box that would fit perfectly between the wheel arches while matching the height of the wheel arches. I'd measure but I'm away from my 90. Any owners have pics of the boxes in the rear tub of a 90?

Great question and I am wondering the same thing. I don't have any on hand yet but I have reached out to a couple owners who do so I will post up when I hear back. I was also planning to take some measurements myself in the back of my D90 so I'll let you know what I find out.

Toby has the A042 and the A073. I will see if I can borrow them to test fit both a 90 and a 110 tub. Once I do I'll post up pictures of possible configurations. Stay tuned!

Not trying to jump in on the deal.... but we stock these and I think we have all these sizes at the shop right now.

Post up what you want to see and where you want it to sit and we will try to get some pics of the cases in situ so you can decide which ones will work best for your application. We have a few Defenders about the shop

If the group buy get good prices good for ya!

These are the mac daddy of all Mac daddy boxes... We have been selling them for a few years now and never had any issues...

This is the smaller 42l Box. I love it because it has a third handle so that it can be carried like a suitcase.

The 73l box shares the same footprint. I find it very handy around camp, as I stack them to make an extra table. I have two of the 73l boxes, one contains all of my cooking and kitchen supplies, the other I use as a pantry. One of the nice things about this size is that it will store wine and whiskey bottles vertically.
