Green Mountain Rover's Defender sales and Importation

Hello,

This is Derek & Catherine Chace from Green Mountain Rovers. We just want to introduce our selves and our new company Green Mountain Rovers. We are based in Underhill, Vermont and we specialize in Defender importation and sales from the UK. We met a couple people from this forum at the British Invasion last weekend and just wanted to say hello. Right now ex mod 110 and 90 are selling for $13k including shipping. With a TDI fitted its about $15K. 110 5 doors with the V8 are about $17k and with a TDI about $20K. So if you are in the market for a new Defender or would like some special series please check out our website http://greenmountainrovers.com/ or give us a call at 802-655-4874.

Thank you

Derek & Catherine Chace

Welcome!
Hopefully you will also be importing plenty of containers of parts to support all of these new arrivals.

Jackie Treehorn,
We dont do parts. Rovers North is less then 5 miles away so not really worth it for us. SafariResto we checked that as long as it is not Land Rover we are fine. Thank you every one for all the support!

I strongly suggest you change the name now while the company is young. I know it has cost me a bunch of money and even more headache to change it later. According the the cease demand letter you cannot use the word rover or the LR logo and even the same color green.

See this PDF, my letter looked about the same as did the others that I have seen.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...9&d=1290484459

It hurt giving up Safari Rover but LRNA blasted me with demands to include facebook, ebay, web site etc.

Not trying to give you a hard time I sincerly hope you do well, just trying to save you some frustration and expesne now rather than later.

Rovers North has an agreement with someone. We all asked that question for sure and never received a good answer. I was told that upwards of 50 cease letters went out and more were to follow.

That would be incorrect information. Stephen is right all of us only had "rover" in our company name or website url and they come after you hard and fast. Had forgotten my letter was posted but Stephen's advice is "spot on".

Welcome to the board. Great to see another LR business in VT. I went to school down the road in Winooski and we have a family house over in Stowe. Maybe I can swing thru next time we are up north. Alhtough it might be faster riding my mtn bike over Mansfield. Even if the Notch is open, driving around can take a while.

Good luck with it - if I have people asking me about imported rigs I'll send them your link.

I wish someone would challenge and strike down rover as a trademark.

I think the bigger problem is probably the use of the Land Rover logo on the homepage.

Actually she indicated that they had no problem with that- it was the bastardizations as she calls them in her letter, and how it was confusing LRNA's customers. If you refer to land rover and their logo they have no issue with that.

I'm just happy we have one more source for trucks in the area ! The more trucks there are the less people will can my defender a jeep... and the easier it will be to get parts at a good price.
