The PMs seemed VERY shady, so I ignored them!

I appreciate that Frank, and I'm thankful for the honesty of the Defender Source community for bringing this to my attention. I apologize for the possible confusion that this may have caused anyone patiently waiting for the newest intake hose, and ask that anyone who may have purchased a hose from Scott to PM me so that I can rectify the situation.

As always, there are two sides to every story.

The impression here is completely wrong and goes to show a lot. The hose was produced by all three of us at Geared. Bryan had the hose and the idea, Ash's friend at one of our vendors made the CAD file, and I found a production company to make it and negotiated terms. I left the company to do my own thing. The agreement when I left was that we would be sharing accounts for resale purposes. Now that it's happened, seems they want to back out of the agreement.

Ash posted that he had scrapped the current design and a phone call with the vendor verifies no more pending order. I have some left here after other orders. I simply posted them on eBay as a safe way to purchase, and PMed people that were interested. Multiple vendors deal with the same people for the same things all the time. It would have been different if I posted the link in this thread. If you look at the original hose thread, I posted it.

Ash, to insinuate that I stole stock from Geared is extremely shady, seeing as how one of the major reasons I left was when Bryan and I found out about you stealing from the company and taking payments to your personal PayPal account. Remember that conversation?

Seems convenient that my name would be called into question by the person who'd just been outed for his questionable tactics.

The agreement, as it were, allowed Scott to continue to benefit from the discounts received from various outfits with whom we purchased Land Rover parts. The fact that he was able to rationalize twisting and manipulating that agreement into using it as grounds for pulling this move shows just how far off his compass is.

But I digress, and that isn't the purpose of this thread. The bottom line is, the hose he's underhandedly offering is the first iteration of the design which we experienced some minor fitment issues with, hence the re-design and re-tool. It'll fit, but not as well as I believe it should.

There is absolutely no way he could have his hands on these hoses without pulling some very dishonest moves. I didn't 'cancel an order' or anything or the sort.

Whatever the case, the hose he's attempting to backdoor is the dated version that doesn't have the revisions made for the best fitment. I advise anyone dealing with him to proceed with caution.

Wow! I agree with what others have said, it felt like a shady proposition once I realized it wasn't Ash that had sent th PM. Seems even shader now. I still need a hose ASAP for my client but will wait for a legit hose from Geared/Ash.

Hello Ash - if you have any Matt finishes left, I'll take one. If not, I'll take one from the next run you make (assuming you run another batch).

Thx!

Working diligently on this! The manufacturer I used last time around was taking far too long to get the tooling made up, so I sent the files to a different company and we have been getting everything in place to go into production. It shouldn't be much longer! Thanks to all who have been so patient.

Ash, I'm not sure if it's too late. I've got some suggestions for version 2.0 for a 1997 GEMS D90. The version I have could fit a little better.

Armando,

If you take a look a few pages back you'll see that I'm doing a complete re-tool based on an extremely accurate 3D scan I had done of the factory hose. Fitment with this version should be excellent. I'm always happy to hear input, though! Feel free to PM me if you'd like to shoot any ideas my way.
