GRC Dash RAM Mount

Just putting a feeler out there to see if there's an interest in these. I needed a solution to mount an iPad in a customer's truck for use as a navigational aid and came up with this design. After bouncing around Utah for a month I'm quite satisfied with the setup, so it's available to the rest of you guys.

It's a rather simple bracket that contours to the edge of the lower dash and provides an 0.75" bar to clamp a RAM Tough Claw to. I used a 6" arm to hang an iPad, but with the RAM accessories you have a million options and configurations for all sorts of devices.

Pricing is highly contingent on quantities, but I'd like to shoot for around $100 for the bracket and Tough Claw, which will allow the end user to build it out to suit their setup.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone is interested I can get a list going. Thanks!

-Ash

I'm about to do a run of these for a few in-house projects if anyone wants to tack an order on.

Looks nice, but I have a question. If you have to bolt/screw this to your dash, why not just bolt/screw the RAM ball to your dash and eliminate a component??

Strength, primarily. The dash, especially after being cut to accommodate the MUD console, just doesn't have a whole lot of rigidity along the front edge. The bracket acts as a dash stiffener and offers a significantly more rigid mounting base, so something like a tablet won't bounce all over the place when you're in rough terrain.
