It is 'almost' a kit. Another guy did basically the same set up in his P38 Rangie !

I must admit, this engine is really growing on me. I think there was one with a supercharger put into an Ibex competition vehicle with Dynatrac axles and it did well.

That being said, there seems to be some differences between the 6.2 and 6.5 and between civilian and military specs that one needs to sort out.

I tried a very early one in a Seville back in 1978 or 1979 or so, when we had a MB 300D, and that thing left a really bad taste. When the dealer thought we were going to take it (Cadillac invited us to come out and try it) and wanted to let us know how much (little) our Benz trade-in would be, we laughed and said that they would have to pay us to take it.

Apparently, the later ones are much better

Yeah, Eric went above and beyond to try and make it as easy as possible for anybody who wanted to go down a similar path. The P38 swap was interesting.

One thing to bear in mind is the age of the engine. Fed regs say it must be the same age as or newer than the truck it goes into. 6.2s are getting on now.

Donít want to get tied up in the love/hate debate on the GM DV8s but will say that pretty much ANY engine out there has it plusses and minuses. Research can allow you to overcome many of the minuses if you're prepared to do/have the work done. The exception of course being the weight. But pretty much any (usable) diesel transplant is going to have some level of weight as a factor to overcome.

Good points.
Here in MI, no worries on age or inspection

Sorry, did not mean to drag up the love/hate on that motor. Eric's swap and the P38 one helped to sway that opinion
