Your Final Trip Before You Fly West

Ok, so the doctor says you have 6 months to live and you have to go on vacation somewhere. Where would you go and money is no object?

Me, camping in Patagonia.

I would buy a Cessna Caravan, toss the family and bikes in back, and start making my way around the world.

Except I would head east.

I am West. Doesn't get much better. "But what about seasons? Easterners love their seasons! Yeah? Well, we do too. We just got rid of all the sh!tty ones" ;-) - Daniel Tosh.

Although I do love the drive from Nice to Naples or Como (yes Monaco, the GP and Casino would be a great stop), I think I'd head North to Chelan and live it out on the lake.

I've thought of this before.

I think I'd do what a friend of mine did. Move to Thailand and buy a house.

And following his path, I would have four girls live with me. No make that five. I need to have more than him. Lol

One for each working day and all five Saturday. Take Sunday off to rest up to do it all over again Monday.

I'm a trees and mountains kind of guy - not a huge beach guy - So I'd want to be in a cabin somewhere.

I'd have a ST Defender for when it's nice, a 97LE for when it's muggy and I would get my old '72 Jag XKE V12 back for when I want to go fast (obviously a great garage with an endless supply of tools, parts and fluids as well).

I'd also have an army of dogs/ puppies (specifically Rottweilers) around me ... everything is better with pups.

Last but not least - assuming we're talking a functional 6 months - I'd have a full size indoor basketball court with 9 other people (who know how to play team D and understand the game) so there's always a game waiting for me.

So..... Is this a hypothetical question? Or is there something we should know?

What I'd like to do and what I would probably end up doing may be two different things.

I'd take a 4 month trek through the Himalayas and the last 2 on a beach in Kauai.

OR

Get a Hinkley or Swan and see how far I could solo sail.... I don't know how to sail but I've been in both so if I'm going to kick, might as well be in a beautiful wood boat... or as fish food.
