I've had this Superwinch EP12 mounted on my bumper for 5 years. The previous owner used it, but I haven't since I've been in "rebuild" status forever. Now that I'm finishing my rebuild I'm thinking it's overkill.

Also, its a 146 lb winch without the cable and combined with the bumper I can barely scoot it around the garage let alone think about mounting it solo. Would a 9500 do the job just as well for a 110 tdi? The Amazon description for the SW Tigershark 9.5 shows a shipping weight of just 81.8 lbs. Would -65 make any difference up front? Thanks

Yes the CG is probably 4 or 5 feet back so Weight x Arm = Moment so that is a net weight loss of 260 to 325 pounds.

Well when you put it like that...anyone want a cheap EP 12? Thanks Dave. I'll go with the 9.5

I have a epi9.0 on my 100 series land cruiser. Going by the 1.5x weight rule it's a bit light for my truck. That being said I've never had a problem with it for my heavy ass truck (7k+lbs) and I've never had to use a snatch block to double up on pulling power.

You'll be fine from a power perspective with a 9k winch.
