WOW...Pristine 94 Java Black ST on EBay

It will be interesting to see what this one sells for considering the 97 Willow Green SW that recently sold for almost 70K....

Follow-up Post:

Ebay makes 'em list at auto tranny. Something about their listing service.

I think it's clear he never drives it cause there's only 8900 miles on it. (couldn't resist)

I told some of you about a truck that was sold at government auction a couple of years ago at Newark. Black 94 ST with only 1080 miles! I read the ad about 5 times and talked to the auction coordinator about the "typo". No typo. The deal was that the owner was selling cable boxes illegally and the post office confiscated all his assets when they threw him in jail. They didn't know how to liquidate, plus probably caught up in legal problems, and it sat in a warehouse for 2 or 3 years. the only driving it saw was when they moved it from one side of the warehouse to the other.

It went for $28k, as I recall. I always wondered what happened to it.

I think that's the third or fourth time around on E-bay for that truck. Tends to get around the $35k mark, but never meets the $45k reserve. Probably won't for a long time either.

I know its a nice truck but i couldn't see paying 45K for it but i guess when you are Copley you can buy that truck for 45 and turn around and sell it for 50K....

Beluga Black '94 ST

I keep a pretty close eye on the used Series LR market but i've not seen this before....So he's turned down $45k really?
Seller here told me today that he would trade the '84 for an 'extremely' low mileage black on black BMW 850 CSi...
The sticker price on those in 94 and 95 (it's tha larger V12 Motorsport version not the more generic automatic CS) was $124,000 before options...lol..!
(High milage version on ebay currently (black) didn't meet reserve at $48k) and only 150 were brought in to the US in all colors.

IIRC, the '97 Willow SE that LR4sale mentioned above had under 300 miles on it and had never been sold..but 70k?

I do like the 94's though....btw anyone got a 95 SW for sale as a mate of mine is looking for an under 55k mile example to buy...

Cheers

Randy

Randy,

Yahoo! Autos has a few, 1 '95 for $23,800 and 81,000 (Iknow, that's more mileage than he'd like )

http://used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/use...1rLG1vJmI9ODEm

All others are '97s in the $38K+ range.

http://used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/use...TEyMSY-#imgpop

Good luck!

I picked up my '97 Soft top just recently with only 9,305 miles for much cheaper than that 1994 is holding out for.

You have to act super quickly if you are going to out-speed copley etc. But they pop up from time to time and the average person can get the deal too.

VERY true!! I picked up my 94 with 40K miles on it for a song compared to what they're asking... I think copley is trying to move the market... Don't they read this board... It's apparent the Defender bubble has burst...

I used to think the bubble had burst too, but after I purchased my most recent D90 with only 9300 miles on it, I've gotten a few huge, huge offers.

I think the premier low mileage offerings still pull a very hefty pricetag; especially the '97 models.

It's an interesting dilemma Defender asking/selling prices. ... notie that most never meet e-bay reserve and then dissapear?

The trouble with low-milage examples in my opinion is that they sit further in someone's garage instead of being used...
Which is not a good thing as these were meant to be driven mechanically speaking...
also one wouldn't want to add any more miles at these prices...! (What good is that?)

Also, is not the new Defender going to be released soon ...? How will this affect these prices then? Discuss?

MSRP on these was $26k in '94 to $32k for the '97 SE

As another example of curiousness....note the Arles blue ST on e-bay about to complete with 35k miles...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

Origainal owner, ....rare cuz Arles was only offered on the ST in '94..factory air,.it's pretty straight but no bids?

and then this '97 ST that went buy it now for $40k...go figure?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...529273931&rd=1

Low miles, color and condition...the '95SW's seem to command the top prices ...as only 510 were imported...

Maybe the H2 owners are getting fed up with so many REAL 4x4 owners pointing and laughing, and are starting to buy things worth owning?

THink it's the Jeep owners tired of rolling over?...lol..!

Forgot to add the Blue '94 does list as manual trans...odd in that ebay hasn't fixed this problem as of yet...but look at the options ...

Leather seats, Anti lock brakes? Driver Airbag?

How posh!

------

edited to add:

This is enjoyable watching the 94 at the finish..it's less than 2 hours to go and up to $42,800...reserve NOT met!
Highway1159 has been the frontrunner all along...he must be an ex Copley customer?

I'm tempted to put my British Racing Green '97 soft top that I just purchased with 9300 miles on it up for auction to see what insane price I could fetch.
