Would you post this on CL?

Apologies if this has been covered, but this looks like another attempt to circumvent illegal importation:

I mean if you can bring a whole body in as 'parts' then I could see these selling in the US. If you 'build' it stateside this is pretty legal. And $85000 is about what that would run you to do it.

the 'replica' bit is a little disheartening. I mean do they have a VIN? can they be registered? sounds sketchy to me

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

I've been told that cbp X-rays the shipping containers coming in and if they see the all or most of parts to make a vehicle then it's considered a vehicle, not parts. Then it's held to that standard. 25 yrs, blah blah

I can second on the nuke search as well. The last few times I have flown back from Mexico, the CPB guy comes out and goes over my entire airplane with a geiger counter before they even let me out of the plane. Kind of comical to watch.

Last I heard (last fall), Berkshire was shipping disassembled trucks in containers over to be re-assembled in Florida based on crusty mot failure truck identity's shipped over in advance.

Its always been a Ship of Theseus argument. I think the bigger issue is trying to do it as a business, as the marketing (CL in this case) draws unwanted attention.

Do you have a link to the seizure logs?

DOT would be steering boxes Heffe. EPA is engines and pollution control only.

I was contacted by a very disgruntled Berkshire client who wanted me to send someone to Berkshire and verify that his six figure black 130 was being disassembled and packed into a container for potential re-assembly in Florida. My guy went and observed that being done in Maidenhead last October.Today there is a black 130 Puma pictured in Florida. May be completely unrelated or the man man have gotten his truck, I couldn't say.

I called him Jeffe and asked about his cholomobile in another thread and he didn't rise to the bait so was poking @ it again.

cholomobile
1. A gang banger family truckster. Usually defined by one of many distinct characteristics; dingleberriesword, a mexican license plate, spooked rims, crooked window decal, occupied by several undesireable short males in wife beater t-shirts.

Ex.Spider sells crack from his cholomobile.
