Maybe just cut the opening niceness out of things, and go straight to sending them an invoice? Absurdly high rates of course..... if it's too high, well, they should had done negotiations BEFORE using the picture.

So what to do in such a case?
I wonder what if someone used a cartoon of mine to print and sell T-shirts i.e. without asking permission.
What then?

Michael (Serious One) is skilled in copyright stuff IIRC,maybe he'll pop in and give some suggestions...?
