Worst day of the year....

Yesterday had to be that day, the day the full top goes back on the D90! Rode around Friday all day in the beautiful weather got caught after dark in it going to dinner and my young girls cried all the way home saying it was too cold. I'm about a week later than I should have put it on bit the weather was so great. I did it yesterday because I had the time and I could lay the top in the sun for a while to heat up!

I really hate this process, from the front rail, To the snaps and to the rail fittings. I wish there was a you tube video to walk though this process easier. It does take me less and less time time each year but about half way through it I get the feeling that money is no object and I am going to order a Badger Custom top on the spot to bypass this step! Technically I'm not done because the tailgate bar and the rail fitting in the back passenger side corner is not secured. I've bent back every nail on my fingers as well as scraped my knuckles trying to do it. My hands are sore as we speak! There has got to be an easier way! Any one have any suggestions or tricks up there sleeve on how to get these last two sections done. Thanks in advance.

Still love the truck but it takes on a whole different personality with the top on. Know I know why people love southern California.

Sad day!

Michael.

Heat and patience.

The tailgate bar you should just be able to slide on to the bottom of the rear zip curtain, and then put it on the interior side of your truck. The extra weight should pull/straighten it out a bit, as well as provide some rigidity to the section, even if you're never able to fully clip the tailgate bar into the back of the truck. How much room is there between the tailgate bar and the actual tailgate? I've seen some shrink up pretty high, to where there's more than an inch gap above the tailgate.

Badger tops are well worth it...heck you'er in Charlotte one of the best places to live! with only 7 or 8 days of weather that could be said to be "Bad" you can go topless all of the time. I do miss Charlotte alot. Good luck with that top!

I put my full soft top and window tops on yesterday too, a sure sign that cold weather is here. I do have a Badger, so the process isn't terrible, but I still wish it didn't have to happen.

I'm with Carter, if I had a 90 I would never put a top on it. Maybe a TARP but only when it was snowing, then whip it off and go play.

Thanks for the suggestions! I am going to keep trying on the tailgate. This is tough.

Keep in mind the only reason that I put the top back on was because of a 5 and 2 year old in the back crying because it was cold. The heater in my truck works great and I am fine but as you know it is not all about me, for once!
