Good luck to everyone and hope you all dig out OK. I can't imagine what that would be like in the Boston area. Up here snow tires are the law and we have more than enough snow removal equipment to deal with such an issue but New England, especially NYC, that would suck. Last time we got a big dump, about 20 inches a few years ago, things were back to normal pretty quick. I think Winter Romp might be a little nuts if Maine gets hit hard.

I was expecting this area to get SOME snow this year. Bought a 6' snow blower, PTO drive, for the back of the Deere. Wonder if I could blow leaves with it?

Ever since I bought the snow blower for the Gravely we have had zippo. I had considered getting a skid steer quick-tach one for the tractor but so far the mojo is still working.

It's an 8123 Rider with front PTO and the thingamajig that lets me use the Walk Behind tools on it. Know where I can find a 48 inch sickle bar? That or a 30 inch mower so I can throw some hate on the poison ivy.
I got half the area around the pond fence line cleared. There are lots of those darn cedar trees (that clog up the chipper) and volunteer Loblolly pines as well as Virginia creeper and PI. Once I get it all done it would be nice to run something over it all to kinda whip the ground into mulch. Ideally something that's like a flail mower but with hammers instead of blades.

I used to play soccer with the Head of Mema who made that statement in response to a question. He used to be at the top of the AG's office and then moved over to the Governors office. He could do with some press conference training.
USCG is flying its Hurricane flags, several south shore towns requiring evacuations of low lying areas.

Luckily base elev. of my foundation is 120' above mean high tide because I'm directly across from the bay. I now have hoarded 20 gallons of reserve fuel for the generator, plus two full tanks in the cars in case things are really bad for days.
I've invited a few families that live in low-lying areas of town. Good chance to hang with some friends and enjoy the safety and comfort!

Also, I'm thankful that we just cut down all the 80-90' pine trees looming around the property so I don't foresee any problems.

Wind damage maybe being up high on a "nob" facing the bay.
