Feel your pain Paul. Mine was reluctant to start but got it going.
Generator is propane powered 200 gallons of the stuff will last awhile!

10-40 was weather channel @ 5:30 am today I'm sure it will hone down as the storm approaches. Personally when the low end comes up from 10- to 18 inches that sounds more serious than a pie in the sky max possible #.

Y'all take care now ya hea

Just saw latest forecast. If the southern storm combines with the north western storm NYC and surrounding areas could see 24" with hurricane force winds.

I'm going to look for more gas cans tomorrow...

For five years now I've been planning to install a home generator and a proper switch panel.. Still have not ... so far the longest we've gone here in the city with out power has been about 6 hours..in the past 10+ years..kinda spoiled compared to most.
I need to decide on a generator... been looking at. Honda Gasoline.
We heat 80% of the time with wood and have about 1.5 cord left.
Be safe.

Bring it on!!!!
50" shaft driven snowblower in front of a JD 455 w/3-cyl yanmar diesel. Blows snow about 30' at half throttle. One tankful of diesel will run that rig for about 24 hours straight, maybe 12 under load.
Got this the season before we got walloped in 2010, then after that it really hasn't seen much use because its easier to simply use the blade attachment for anything under 6".

Aside from not having my 110 at home, I'm ready for an epic blizzard.

Ready too. Gas lines out the ass here for no good reason.
You got to admit, the rover in the snow is awesome.
Be safe everyone!!!!

Need more jerry cans for gas generator. Tank holds 12 gallons and is full, plus 1 NATO 5-gallon and a cheap plastic 5-gallon. 12-hour run time under 75 percent load, so that's a gallon/hour. Doesn't that seam thirsty?
Here is where I wish I had ponied up the extra $$$ for a natty-gas whole house generator!

Hey Aynes, your 110 is snug as a bug at the shop in framingham. Much safer there! If you get bored take P Car to Stars and we can down a few.

Yeah, I could see it being "wine-thirty" all day tomorrow.....or as we men say "shop-Friday"

I can walk to Duxy Wine & Spirits (a/k/a "the packy" for us Massholes) if I need to, but I may need to crush a few pints at The Winsor House at some point. Stars may be a bit optimistic.

Would be nice to play in the snow with the 110, but would rather know that it's not being rushed. I'll be fine without

Aren't most people exiting Manhattan at 4am after the remainder of their Friday night? At least, that's how I remember it!

I have 2 fully stocked Jerry's if you need to take mine after work tomorrow or something. I won't need them before next weekend and they already have 93 in them. If they're convenient to you let me know, and I can meet after work.

Looks like Badgerman is gunna get hammered. 70+ mph sustained winds and snowfall @ 2 inches and hour. Waves on the Cape expected to be 20ft plus and then there's the storm surge.
Basically a hurricane with heavy snow.

Another "perfect" storm. It's in the Atlantic right now picking up steam. Another system coming in from the west bringing cold air. They merge this afternoon/evening and it's gonna be epic.
