Windshield notes

So I have been driving my Land Rover to work for the past week or so. It has been nice to enjoy the first signs of spring and to shake out some of the winter bugs from the truck.

Anyway, I get in the truck yesterday after work (SAIC in McLean, VA) and I find a note on my windshield addressed to "Rover Enthusiast". Well, isn't that nice?

I open it up and it is a nice flowery card with a lovely hand written note (lady's handwriting with large loopy characters and such). The note states that this lady's ex-husbund deals in Land Rovers and she wanted to pass along his card in case I was interested. He worked with some company called Dividing Creek and his name was Doug.

It sounds real sketchy to me... I mean with a name like "Doug". He is probably some really big guy with overcompensating issues - you know - has to go out and buy a Land Rover longer than everyone elses

It is a small Rover world

Anyway - photo taken of my truck in parking lot - 3 feet and 30 years seperates these two trucks.

That story sounds a little fishy... What ex-wife would promote business for her ex-husband? Plus, it would be hard to trust anyone named Doug... :-)

Gotta keep you eye out for that Doug guy. I hear he likes to give away body panels.

This note is obviously a Nigerian money laundering craiglist eBay telemarketing scam. Next thing you know this "Doug" will be sending you an email that he is the Nigerian Finance Minister who secretly and privately needs your (disregard the other 978 people CC'ed on the email) help. Dont worry, you will be sure to know its authentic since the Finance Minister cant correctly spell Finance and obviously is in such a hurry for your help that he cant afford to use spellcheck.

Thats it ! You guys have busted my balls. I'm going to play hooky and go work on the boat today. Bottom paint, zincs, reinstall computer perfected props,etc.. so it can splash next week.

Nigerian Finance Minister-I don't care who you are, that right there is funny.

Cool! Assuming you know when beer thirty is you could swing by either way and join us for a beer. I'll send you an email after nailing Doug down to a timeframe I can be confident in .
