Willys jeeps still around?

Saw these on the island of Bonaire...finally able to download the pictures. Does the Willys company still exist, or are these well preserved vintage jeeps? They were for rent on the island...I only saw them before/after hours so nobody to ask

That's a very strange looking WIlly's. Looks like a custom job to me. Or the front grill at least.

No, Willys-Overland is long gone as part of the Kaiser buyout and renaming in the 50's. You can trace it straight to Chrysler/Jeep as far as I know.

Thanks for the info

I agree with Chris that these jeeps were probably custom made and the Willys grill too. Nice attempt either way as they look like fun vehicles.

There were a number of foreign manf.s who built Willys products under license (think Santana and LR). Mahindra (sp?) is one in India that is still going, and I think there are others.

I drove something once that was based on a CJ-5 style platform, but with a Suzuki like plastic dash and graphics. Can't remember the name.

That would make some sense Robert as these things looked brand spanking new. I am surprised the name still carries any value anywhere

I know the Cubans have managed to preserve older American cars for years, but these looked way too perfect
