Will an LR3 tow a u-haul with a '96 D1 on it?

All:

Will u-haul loan me a trailer to tow a D1? Does an LR3 have the power for it? 5-Hr trip with some hills.

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

They have a handy calculator on the site that tells you what you can tow with the dolly or flatbed

A quick Google search says an LR3 has a 7700 Lb towing capacity so my guess would be yes.

Towed more than my fair share with the LR3, it'll handle the D1 just fine.

To save from any questions or number crunching I usually tell them that I'm towing something small, like a mg or Saab. The trailer rating is fine none the less and the LR3 will do just fine.

I used to haul everything with my wife's LR3 until I graduated to a 3500 Dually; still miss the turning radius. That Jag engine and powertrain can handle it without issue,

I've been wondering how well my P38 will haul my D1 on a trailer. I may wait till it's cooler out though.

You are truly a prepared Land Rover enthusiast. Towing an entire spare Land Rover is the only way to go.

I have towed p38's and chevy blazer k10 with my 95 classic lwb on a 20 ft flat bed trailer, used to tow a 30 ft camper with it too.
as long as you have trailer brakes and keep in mind that you are pulling and stopping top heavy dead weight, the lr3 should be fine. Im a former truck driver and still hold a CDL, just take it easy when towing and you will be fine.

It will even tow another LR3, if the trailer doesn't weight too much.
