Will a NAS 90 ST ...

I was wondering, could you take a NAS 90 ST body and put it on a TD5 90 frame. I know the fuel tank is different but it sits in the same spot as where a NAS 90 would have one (same filler). Just wondering if you took the td5 bulkhead, left it in place, could you theoretically move everything else over?

Wiring would be an issue, but the frame dimensions are the same.

why is the wiring an issue? I would assume it really comes down to changing the tub. Are we talking the lights?

Could the radiator panel be different or the engine side of the fenders?

Ok rethinking, leave the front in place and just use the NAS tub and cage etc?

so you just want to put a NAS tub on a TD5 and leave the rest TD5 (engine etc)?

Well this is a curiousity question mostly as I am sick of the new defender talk. I was looking into the NAS 90 gas tank and whether or not it is different from a TD5 90 tank and I came to the conclusion it sits in the same spot but otherwise is very different and uses different mounts.

I know people restore trucks all the time and replace frames so I thought wouldn't it make sense if you wanted to make your truck a td5 90 to buy a td5 frame and get that gas tank. I was just wondering if there was any reason you couldn't use a NAS tub on the frame.

The front sections really don't matter as the body is interchangable. people always talk about getting a NAS frame with 300 tdi mounts but I was wondering why people don't just go the TD5 frame and tank route. All just ideas obviously

over here retro fitting a 300 tdi in a td5 chassis is easy. the ROW spec 300's were on td5 chassis and all you need is a tank plate to allow the fuel to be sucked, rather than pumped to the engine.

You can buy a NAS chassis so why mix it up, there worth what there worth because there unique.

Not sure on the tubs, they look the same but may have strengthening for the rear seatbets etc

you send me a NAS 90 and i'll send you a td5 90!

Why swap out the tub when they are almost the same? Just a few changes here and there and the NAS cage would fit on the TD5.

Who knows. I was bored and wanted to start a new discussion.

I would also think using the td5 tank would be easier but I don't know if that works with 300 tdis. I would assume just pumas and td5s

Tom in Long Island used a TD5 tank with a 200 Tdi. I think you just dont hook up the pump that is in the tank.
