Why I have lojack

With production over, Land Rover Defender thefts rise dramatically

The mismatched spare always identifies your truck.

Agreed. And it wouldnt be worth it to steal it for the non-traceable parts, atleast not the ones on my 110.

Owning a 6 figure vehicle is a different story.... If you can't manage to have a proper alarm and tracking system on your expensive vehicle, you deserve to lose it.

Pretty harsh John. Nobody deserves to have anything stolen, alarm or not.
As a side note your trolling of my posts isn't very cool especially since you are a moderator. If you have something helpful to contribute it is appreciated but you can stop flinging poo anytime now.
Thanks!

So much angry. Chill guys. This is just the chit-chat section. It is all in fun... If you spent $150000 on a Defender, I would hope you would spend a few bucks on a nice alarm system or just hire a guy to stand around beating people that touch it.

I'm not trolling anyone.... You responded to my suggestion nobody would steal one... I responded to that saying a truck of that worth is a different story to what I was talking about.

To "me" a Defender is a just another old cheap truck. These insanely expensive built trucks are a whole other category and should have proper alarm and tracking systems.

Nobody is attacking you. There is no need to be defensive. It is all love and hugs around here.

Well this is on my mind all the time as I am living in the UK. Often people laugh at me due to the precautions I take. Call me paranoid but I guess it's one of those "an ounce of prevention" situations even though I don't have a late model show truck. The nearest theft I am aware of was an hour away, not to say there was not others because about 5 months ago I saw a 2013 110 on a flat bed in town, missing all 5 doors. Pretty sure I can assume what happened.

My truck came with lojack from LR Peabody but I have no idea if it is still functioning. In fact I hadn't thought about it in years.

Odds are it has the style they use in normal cars. It runs off a battery and your car battery.

The style I recommend for people ho don't drive often is the classic car type that has it's own power source that won't drain the battery if the vehicle sits.
