I'm sure there are great folks. We have some great folks that are our normal vendors. I'm not saying everyone sucks, just quite a few.
It always seemed to me that the typical UK worker could care less if they get the sale. The places where you speak with the owner I think you will get better service as they will have interest in making the sale.

Your right; that seems to be the same anywhere.

I'll tell you that I've been working on getting an order from Exmoor through John Craddock now for about 6 weeks. Craddock's been Very good to deal with, Exmoor has been . . . not as good.

+1

Tell the owner of Exmoor. Maybe he can make it right for you:

If hasn't realized by now . . . I can't find any US retailer willing to special order from them (trying to get waterproof covers for my Trakkers) and even Craddocks can't get them to respond on shipping them an item that's supposed to be in inventory. I'm afraid that since they're the only game in town they can afford to let the details slip.

That is the reason we stopped doing any special orders from them long before we stopped stocking stuff from them.

I live about 15 minutes from RAF Fairford, if that helps at all. (in fact, we supply gaming machines in "skytanker lanes" bowling alley!)

Britpart have a good service.
Shame their products suck!

It's not just "foreigners" that get crappy email responce, or service, so do us UK guys, i suppose it's just easier for us to drop one supplier and go elsewhere.

still cr@p sercive though, not good at all.

The reason so few UK companies accept Amex is because credit card companies take a much larger commision for an Amex transaction and charge a flat fee just for the privelige of being able to accept an Amex card in the first place. Amex is seen and marketed in the UK as something of a high end 'luxury' product. As a result it's nowhere near as popular in the UK as the US so therefore UK traders will see little point in paying for the privelige of accepting what still is over here at least, the least presented card by far. Besides, every Amex card holder knows they have to have a Visa/MC as a back up so why bother.

I have gotten a lot of stuff from the UK. Most of the time the service is good but a bit slow for me. I know.... I am one of those high energy, nasty, demanding Americans. In the end however it all has turned out to be good. I just think that the four O'Clock tea thing gets in the way, Ha Ha
