Dont know, but the usual guy got his hands on it. What I dont understand is who pays the prices that guy asks.

I saw that last night too. Did you guys see the green SW that was rolled over last week on there? They were asking $15k and it didn't have a single straight panel, axles were bent, dash damaged...almost nothing usable on it!

You'd be suprised Jim. I know Wayne (Maxcar.net) pretty well. I used to work for him when I was in college and I sold quite a few of these salvage Defenders. These trucks are typically good candidates for rebuilds for "strectched" Defenders (ie. 110's, etc).

There are actually quite a few usable parts (mostly driveline) still on that truck. The real assignment of value depends on how much you think the title and VIN are worth. Basically a rolling chassis with a VIN. If you're doing a rebuild to a longer wheelbase, diesel engine, and newer interior, then the items burned in the fire are really of little consequence. It's kinda like stretching a Cadillac into a limousine, only way cooler.

Damn, you guys scared me for a second. I left my truck at home with my dad for a few weeks and thought he might have had a little "mishap" and tried to have a "quick fix!!!

Luckily, my baby is in the garage...

i'm curious how much it'll go for seeing as it's only value is for VIN and title...

I bought my 110 from Wayne.

Rear end collision with front damage as well. I got it at a a good price and he was straight up to deal with.

He specializes in wrecked exotics but is not moving as many Land Rovers as he used to. He is a dealer for a living and this is his niche but I found him to honest and would do business with him again.

Of course if you overpay on an auction it is your fault.

They probably bought it cheap in the UK after the accident and then imported it as a pile of parts...just my best guess.

Look at the mark on the rear body tub where the plate used to be. Looks like the outline of a US plate, not a UK one. If someone really did sneak that thing in here and wasnt smart enough to re title it somehow, i could only imagine the insurance issues

No joke, I still get all jumpy when driving past BBQ places down here. Start sniffing the vents and looking for smoke in the cab.

Actually, that auction claims it to be a 2007. Which it can't be. The engine and hood are all wrong.

I also love the copied wikipedia entry. Photo links and all.
