Justin, you should keep it, even if it's just for trail use and display (ie a trailer queen / marketing tool). Then you can at least eyeball or even test fit any defender parts you sell.

We don't hold it against you that you drive a disco. Really. I mean that would be petty.

He sold it a few years back (2005-06 maybe?) when he went off to college. To whom he sold it, I have no clue.
Though the truck pictured used to be his, the VIN doesn't match up with the one I recall. My guess (i.e., theory) is that at some point this truck has been previously "salvaged" and issued a "non-rebuildable", "parts only" or "export only" title (also very common in FL). When I saw the truck at auction, I searched the VIN listed and saw where Shams had the VIN, title and bulkhead for sale at one point some time back awhile ago ( http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...bulkhead+title ), so perhaps it was bought and used as a "donor" to get this 90 "legal" again. Have you checked the frame horn to see if the number stamped there is the same as the dash plate or to see if it has been altered?
Just my $.02. Hope this helps.

Disclaimer: The statement above is a theory based on the information available. I have not taken the time to personally verify any of the above information.

This is my recollection exactly. Shams had the "identity for sale" here on the board.

Carfax has this truck in the south all of its life and by looking at the frame I believe it. the last owner was in GA back in 2006. Shams could not have been selling this vin. If he did then it was a scam or Land Rover made 2 of the same truck.

Seems consistent with my memory of when he sold it.

Interesting......No way that there are 2 trucks with the same VIN. A 2nd vehicle with the same VIN would never have made it past the port, and Carfax confirms a history consistent with this particular vehicle. So, I'm not sure what Shams was selling? Perhaps he could clarify????
