Too hot for that right now, but sometimes. Currently stocked with 3 CAO Brazilias, 4 Cuban Montecristo #4's and a #2, 2 Cuban Romeo y Julieta #2's, 5 Cuban Romeo y Julieta #1's (4 of them purchased for another member), and 6 Cuban Guantanamera Cristales Cigars which I figured I'd try just because they were cheap Cubans (machine, not hand rolled) but they sucked.

Wow, what a coincidence. The gf just sent this to me. Huffington Post compiled the top 20 results for whiskey/whisky brands searched on Google, then rated them all. Kind of funny what they say about Pappy's at number 1.

*A brief note about my #1 choice: I am not easily swayed by hype. I know that this whiskey is the most annoying cult favorite whiskey on earth, that it is relatively expensive and absurdly rare. I did not list it first because I am some sort of snob, I listed it first because it is the best damned whiskey I have ever tasted in my life.

Maybe. I had to buy buffalo trace a couple times this summer to make the guy happy. He had to get something like 15 cases of buffalo just to get 2 bottles of Pappy's for me.

I was at a whiskey bar in Chapel Hill NC not to long ago and happen to meet the owner of the place. He keeps Pappy in stock. He told me he prefers W. L. Weller to Pappy. Both come out of the same distillery but the Pappy is so low volume it helps with the name.

I've had both on a number of occasions, and really you can't go wrong.

This is the case for almost all bourbon, nearly all of it comes from 5-6 distilleries...

There is nothing overly special about Pappy other than it being so limited and the ridiculous cult following it enjoys. (That said, I like it, just not necessarily worth the hype it receives)

Almost time for cigar and bourbon season for me (usually September out west). Tonight I was at a local pub enjoying some Pappy's and a guy rolls up to the bar and asks for two shots of fireball. Bartender says we don't carry that. A little irony.

Anyone who wants to drive hours to my area to drink at a dive bar and smoke a cigar is welcome -- I will even get the cigars.
