Great question. If its 100, its one of the best conversions to that wheelbase I've ever seen.

Is it the 100" wheelbase that Rover Hybrids built back in the day?

He did the conversion years ago. Can't remember where he was from. NM or CA maybe.

Take a look at the wolfs. They're reversed.

Knew there was something goofy about them.... did he flatten the mount somehow? The wolfs have tapered lug holes

Pretty sure it was Cali.

I think it was in a 2005 Rovers North News.

I'm not so sure the Wolfs are reversed, but rather look like they've been "deepened"...perhaps modified?

The plot thickens.... it does appear that the contour of the wheel is the same, there's just more offset and possibly made wider.

Jeff Briggs is correct, Shane at Rover Hybrids built the truck, I had Shane build it in 2004-2005, and Scott Oncken at Eco OffRoad (Eco-OffRoad, LLC - Home) has just just completed the engine swap started by Shane - replacing the 300Tdi with a Powerstroke 2.8 HS with a VNT turbo, both with about 50 miles on them.

And they're not Wolf wheels, they're 110 wheels, but with the offset tweaked by Stockton Wheel, then white powder coated, and they now have (brand new) 33" BFG KM2s, not the Michelin XZL's shown in the photo - I traded them to John Lee at Expedition Exchange for OME suspension stuff for my diesel Land Cruiser 80.

And it was written up in a two-part article in the Rover's North Newsletter in the winter 2005 issue.

I'm going to get a canvas sides made for the pop-top, and a mattress so you can sleep upstairs but inside, Dormobile or Westy-style, then sell the truck. Sob.

The truck has a PlantDrive vegetable oil conversion (I used to own PlantDrive) - runs on diesel, biodiesel or used cooking oil, with a Series-style tank, 12 gallons, under the passenger seat for diesel or biodiesel and a 25 gallon tank for WVO/SVO under the (Rhino-llned and undercoated) tub. And you could choose to run diesel in both tanks, or, in California, you could run Propel Biodiesl year round - it's currently $2.59/gallon - cheaper than diesel, renewable, way skinnier carbon footprint than diesel or gasoline, made in Finland from used cooking oil and fats, but with no cold weather issues. There's a Propel app in the Apple App Store that has a station locator. Or: https://propelfuels.com

The D100 has an internal roll cage, upgraded suspension, Warn 9000 winch, dual Odyssey PC2150 batteries, new BFG KM2's, a rebuilt R380, 1.2 gears in the LT230, 4:10 gears and ARB air lockers, galvanized chassis, Ashcroft crawler box, upgraded axles, sliders, relocated rear radius arms, a custom rear bumper by Shane Ballensky and a Safari Gard front bumper with the bull bars removed.

Legally titled in California as a diesel. Since it's pre-1998, it's forever emissions-test-exempt.

Not sure of price yet, but more than $60,000 and less than $100,000. Let the flaming begin -

Email mail me with any questions.

Craig, thanks for the very detailed update!
Good luck with the sale; such a unique truck.

Probably had centers cut out then reversed and welded....😀😀ROAM did that to series wheels. I had them on mine.

Very cool story. I'm still pretty sure they're Wolfs. Wolfs have mostly always been factory fitted on 110s, so that may be where the 110 wheel comment comes from?

One of the coolest Rovers on the planet especially with the custom pop top.

Considering the quality of build and equipment level I think even the high side of your anticipated selling range is a good value.

Wish I was in the position to buy it - that's a "forever" truck for sure. Only a few of those around IMO (Ken's 110 being another)
