Where to camp for MAR

O.K since I am new to MAR, where is the best place to pitch my camp at. I will most likely be coming solo since the GF is out of town for business. Any one else going at it alone and want to meet up to hit the trails together let me know. I have a winch and tow ropes.

Matt, there are probably 3 prominent places to camp: Near the registration/dinner tent; "on the hill", and on the island. The island may not be a great place to go since it's been wet down there, and I recall people who've been there recently saying that the water is high. The "hill" is good because there's less supervision up there, fewer marshals (or marshalls), louder, and generally less restrictive. Near the registration tent is nice because it's close to the evening dinners and all the action where you can see the trucks come and go, but it's also right in the middle of things.

Since I'll only be camping Fri eve, I'll probably tent near the registration tent. I think Trevor and Tyler like the "hill". If Mike were going, of course, he'd be on the island in the mud.

The Island. There are going to be 12 trucks (as of now) from Roanoke, VA heading up Friday morning. Depending on what the latest hurricane does to us, IMHO thats the place to be. Far too many people everywhere else. Then again most of us have rugrats along too. Loyd, hope to see ya!

Hey Matt - I may be going solo also, the GF may not be able to make it. Camped on the Hill last year. Might need someone with a winch. Don't have one yet.

Tyler - where are you guys going to set up camp on the hill?

Matt - Cool. I'll be leaving Richmond mid-day Friday. I'll look for ya. Mine is a Red ST with Virginia plates.

Tyler - If I stay on the hill again this year, I'll look for you guys. That is if you don't mind straglers.
