Next time I have a chance, I'm going to get a picture of my 110 next to an M1A1. That'll be a keeper. I challenge any of you armor guys to beat me to it! Let's see who gets it first!

I hope everyone had the best 9/11 possible...I have a new Ford Raptor being born today, so I'll always have something positive to think about on future 9/11's...At least there are always good things happening...every single day of the year

It may be a while over here -- no tanks. But when I get back I'll be sure to get one with an M1A2!

I'm light right now for the first time -- and have been amazed to meet so many O's who haven't been near a tracked vehicle since OBC. Sometimes the 11A's will refer to them as tankers, and its an insult to both of us!

Where are you now?

Were you and I in touch earlier this year re: Kosovo?

Here now... and 'we' have ruined everything good about this deployment that 16 had figured out.

To make you feel better... my year group will not actually pin MAJ until YG+11 after being selected in PZ. That means I will wear CPT for a total of 8 years !

Back to the old Army promotion system... now if our evaluation system would just catch up.

Ouch...that hurts, and sounds akin to what's happening inside the USMC.

JimC for what it's worth, I've been on the list for coming up on two years now...with the hope that I'll finally pin on in Dec/Jan.

You guys should have been Veterinarians. I have a MAJ in my unit with a grand total of 4 years of service.

AF is the same. The '05 year group Maj PRF should have been due now. There is still no announced date for when they are due and they require 6 month notification prior to. I'm in '06 so mine will not be due for a year after that. Then if you do get selected for Maj you have to play the line number waiting game. Best part is it is nearly $1000 a month that you won't get the longer it goes on. I feel for everybody in that situation.

- Noble Eagle (Back in my dirty SWO days) x2 (01-02)
- OEF / Gulf / Somalia pirate fun x2 as a H60B pilot (04-08) (+Scotland x2 w/Brits & NATO! )
- OIF x3 as a H60H pilot (08-12) - Of note For Karl, there's a good chance that you or some of your 5th Group guys got to enjoy my aviator stylings a time or two. We would talk about Defenders after the AMBs at Gabe and BIAP and they'd often grab us from the HLZs in really beat, doorless, D110s.

Funny, my first real exposure to Defenders was in Iraq... the local ODA used beat-up doorless LHD 110s as FOB-runners.
