What's it worth?

Trying to determine a fair price on a Defender I'm looking at, anyone want to offer ballpark price or range?

MY2000 Td5 Defender 110
240000 KM

Added or replaced new in 2014:

Arb Air lockers front & rear
Frontrunner roof rack
RTT (unknown brand)
Terrafirma Rocksliders
Diff guards front & rear
Warn winch 9000I with synthetic line
Terrafirma Bull bar
Hella spot lights
set of Mach 5 MaxXtrac
BFgoodrich Mud T/A
second set of Wolf rims incl.
Snorkel
Salisbury differential
4 new doors and door cards
Seals and rubber replaced around all windows
Dinatrol rustproofing
fuel pump
Terrafirma heavy duty shocks
rear crossmember

All receipts and maintenance records available

Looks very clean. Only has front seats and 1 jump seat in rear.

Around $25000 Canadian is about the going price. Maybe a bit more with the new doors.

Really? With all those accessories (new) I would have thought quite a bit more - the thing is spotless, no rust at all. I forgot to mention the gearbox was refurbished as well.

Yep. An unrestored TD5 110 fetches around that much. Accessories don't add much value. Similar TDI 110s are selling around $20000.

Accessories don't really add much value unless you really want them. I could see paying more for a truck with air lockers if that's something you would buy anyway, but just having them doesn't increase the value IMO.

What's the rest of the chassis like? If the crossmember has been done... I would saw its worth more than 25k if it's in really good shape and everything is rebuilt. But these trucks can hide a lot so be careful. The market is much lower in Canada since everyone just imports these themselves from Europe and saves a bundle.

I see a shiny paint job but none of areas where problems occur

I haven't seen it up close but owner says crossmember was replaced new in 2014.

Are you the buyer? I thought you were the seller. It MUST be inspected by someone knowledgeable in Defenders. $25000 is a good sale number. $30000 is the absolute top end if you are in love and there are no issues.

I'm the potential buyer.

Very sound advice!

I wouldn't buy it without going to see it/ drive it/ get it looked at by an independent party.

It is not in Canada? That is a whole different thing. My numbers were in Canada with prior registration. A lot less in Europe. You need it inspected by a reliable third party. Be scared of shiny truck pictures.

Think of it this way. If you were to by a nice 2000 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4 door, how much would you pay? This should not be much more in its original country.

Not in Canada, it's in the EU. Just had preliminary discussion with the owner.

Don't think so, It would still be well under 30K after shipping, based on my last import experience.
