What's it worth?

I'm looking for some guidance regarding what is a fair price for this 94 D90 listed on Craigslist SF. The ad reads:
I am selling my defender. It is a 1994 portofino red softtop with an R380 manual transmission (the best they made) and has been garaged, babied, and restored to excellent condition. Has two tops, both new in the last year (one not even used yet), both made by Badger Coachworks, the best in the business. You can go to their site but we are talking $3500 of tops!

The interior is in very good condition. I but in a Tuffy locking center console and an Alpine CD player with an ipod jack and new speakers. There are only 88k miles of this beauty and the tires have only about a 1000. The body is in great shape too, as this a west coast car and has no rust.

He shared a handful of photos with me, and I've attached 4 of them here. Any input appreciated.

Nice truck and over $30k, but ask about the front right side to the door that has been resprayed.

What does the seller mean by

$36k is a lot for a truck with almost 90k miles and no A/C, but the few exterior shots you've provided do look nice. There is another thread just a few hours old asking for our input on condition, and you'll see a ton of photos in there. Have the seller (or you) tak the same exact pictures that are posted in there, and post them up here for review.

I guess by $3,500 in Badger tops he means a full top and a surrey top. I'm not sure having those actually adds $3,500 in value to the truck, but they are nice additions indeed.

He said he hadn't noticed the door in the 6 years he owned it but recognized that the photo looks that way. Said he would take a look at it this weekend when he gets it out.

As for tops, he said they are "brand new Badger II, 1 year old Badger Surrey"

I was looking for the other post you mentioned above, but can't seem to locate it.

Based on the limited information you have, do you have a range that you think it is worth (or perhaps to be more precise, what is a fair market price)?
Thanks

Fender is same tint as door. Raises question of accident damage.

You don't really need both a Badger II AND a surrey as the B2 is meant to basically turn into a surrey with the windows all rolled up. But that's a preference I guess.

If its not in the Misc Chit Chat section, then I think it's in the Defender Technical Info section.

Good catch. I don't know if the way the sun hits it could explain it, but it certainly raises concerns...
