Sweet! Keep us posted on her progress Ron. It is nice to see someone else so into practical machines

I took the fender off and hammered the fender straighter and hit it with some green to make it look ok from 20ft. Still looking for a new fender. Got the hood straighter and pulled out the nose panel. Damage was minimal.

I need a heater fan switch and to fix the chokes. I also need a new hazard switch. Otherwise she is great.

Good news. I bet this is actaully better than a salt car. Maybe a lot of waxoyl would be prudent to keep her around as long as possible. Does 2002AD sell bavaria parts?

What it 2002AD?

I am sure there is the roversnorth equivlent for BMW I just don't know what it is.

She really moves for an old girl. 3.0 litre and a four speed. Some minor smoke at 6k rpm lift off throttle from worn valve seals.

Ron

BTW WAY better than a salt car as she is really rust free. No holes, worst of it is some pitting under the new paint where the trim strips mounted. Still has the original PVC undercoating which is immaculate. All I need is a fender (any maybe a hood).

She looked like she was winking because the one headlight was pushed down.

I've used Bekkers for some of the Euro-only parts on my grey market cars, they have been quite good, but I haven't needed anything from them for a few years now, so no recent experiences to speak of.

2002AD is a big BMW breaker and parts place in so cal - I checked and they do sell bav parts. They even have a nice bav for sale for 14k.
