We're shortlisted for the 2015 Top Truck Challenge

Hey guys - So we heard the news yesterday (haven't seen an issue live in hand) that we made the cut of 31 trucks for Four Wheeler's Top Truck Challenge 2015! We are #25 on the list and - being that this is a premier world-class competition - we're pretty excited!

Needless to say...the 1983 Defender 110 HCPU has already undergone a lot of transformation, but I'm trying o keep with the theme of the Land Rover Challenge truck look/feel...

If you do pick up Four Wheeler regularly, I'd appreciate a vote...if you don't, maybe this is a good time for a good Land Rover cause...I think this would be the second time a Land Rover was included in the top 10 (a nice D90 was in there in the 90s) in the past 22 years...

Thanks as always! We're scrambling to finish the truck, test it, and then ship it from the Middle East to Cali!

Nadim

Sweet!

I pickup Four Wheeler almost every month. Is this in the May issue? I just got April and didn't see Top Truck in it.

I will definitely vote - I have been following Four Wheeler's Top Truck for years and it will be great to see a Defender in it!

Post pics of it if you can. A D110 with 54's must look pretty badass!

Here we go (and a small rendering at the end...winch behind stock grill, 7" LED truck lites, and G-wagon turn signals...

Thanks Rocky,

You need to get the April issue (not sure why the April issue is out in Feb), and tear out the ballot for the votes and put in #25 in one of the 10...then you need to ail it in...

Best,
Nadim

Impressive build and you'll get my vote-- curious what makes it a 110, the Bulkhead/cab? Can't be much at least that I see! Don't get me wrong, that's enough for me, just really curious what else you could use on a build like that that is a rover part...

I wanted to build a truggy in order to keep the paper-work legal. So this thing will still be a 1983 Land Rover 110 HCPU as it was originally registered...this will facilitate shipping from one country to the next for TTC in this regard, but also for Ultra-4 racing and multi-day challenges in Europe...

Give yourself a couple months for CBP to wrap their pin-sized heads around that when it hits US shores.

CBP should not have an issue given that I am neither a resident nor citizen of the US...I'm checking and getting "pre-approved" documents prior to shipping!

Does it need to be street legal to race off road? Nevermind. Went digging.

That's awesome! I remember a NAS D90 in TTC in the late 90's or early 2000's. If I remember correctly, it was running SG stage 3 suspension.

I remember being disappointed in how it placed, but compared to the other trucks, it was practically stock.

Not sure it's even worth running TTC if you don't have 44's and military weight drivetrain given how big some of the holes and obsticsls are on that course!

Those LED tail lamps looks to be a good replacement for '94 NAS. Great progress Nadim, keep the pics coming!
