Went drag racing in my 110 again last night

https://youtu.be/ZupQLm9lKnI

To cut a long story short... after four rounds of eliminations I came home the winner

I had done a little work on the engine. The 110 can now do the 1/4 mile in about 17.8 secs at 72mph.

I'm thinking about going pro. John Force had better watch out.

God I hated people like you when I drag raced

I used to go every Wednesday and there was some dumb old lady in a 4cly mustang. Ran a 20second 1/4 mile but since it was bracket racing, and it was an auto and there absolutely nothing that could possibly be different one run to the next (tire spin and shifting was a non concern). She would win all the time.

I overhauled the distributor, eliminated all the backlash in the distributor drive then installed a larger (P38) air flow meter along with a matched fueling chip from Mark Adams and some carbon fibre trumpets. Then I advanced the timing about 5 degrees.

I think the timing is still not perfect so I might spend a little more time on that but I doubt there's much more to be gained without installing a bigger cam and/or ported heads and intake.

Sorry about the lack of a trophy pic. Next time...

Looks like a great launch.

Agree with Jeff - 1 sec and 12 mph gain is impressive. Not a bad time for a big tall and heavy brick!

The block and heads are from a 2003 Disco II i.e it's a 4.6.
I made a bulge in the middle of the split pin that holds the gear on the bottom of the distributor so that it wasn't loose any more. Then I installed a new drive gear on the end of the camshaft and new springs in the distributor advance mechanism.

Here's another video clip with a bit of slow motion.

I think that if I put a lot of sand bags behind the rear axle and some drag racing shocks at the front, I might be able to do a wheel stand. That would be awesome.

Great to see you still at it. I can't believe your clutch hasn't gone yet!
