These races are cool. It is a big party after the race. Did the Spartan Race last year and it was great. This year I am doing the Tough Mudder and taking a shot at the Death Race. Look up the Death race, it's ridiculous.
The shorter races aren't bad. There are so many people that you get bottle necks where you can slow down to catch your breath if needed.
Have fun and take pics.

Finally found this thread. I am in it for the warrior helmet

BTW, based on how this course looks, I'm probably going to run it with lightweight hiking boots. Based on the videos there look to be lots of potential ankle-twisting obstacles.

Still cross training but with a broader variety of disciplines, however I'm guessing my wife is now out. So at least one less female Galpin to embarrass Huff

But it turns out this is during MAR so we we want to do this and MAR we'll need to skip out for a few hours (it's about an hour away) and I sure hope they have showers.

Yes, we had showers at ours. They were hoses with guns at the end, with the water fed from the snow runoff pumped from the reservoir. If you were lucky enough, you got to use a hose that had not been used for a few minutes and sitting in the sun so that the water temp was approaching 45.

I did the Warrior Dash in ATL earlier this year, it was awesome and will wear you out. Just don't get drunk the night before. The fastest guy in the Atlanta group did it in like 17 min. Also, keep your head low in the dark tunnel section or you will have a few bumps...

I like how you limited it to the female Galpins that may embarrass me...good to see you have already given up on beating me! Sadly your daughters will probably embarrass us both!

Even though I have nothing to base it on, I am still optimistic

I'm doing a Tough Mudder in DC next May, and another in Beaver Creek next June. I hear they're a blast!
