Wanted: Colourful Adjectives to describe...

... the ability of the Land Rover engineers who "designed" the wire harness.

If you have ever tried to simplify a harness then you know exactly what I mean.

There's really only one correct word to describe the way the wiring was done on our trucks....
"British"

The same word is used very often to describe how the fine folks from that nation conducted some very odd engineering on their airplanes and firearms. It falls perfectly in line with my own conclusion of the British theory of aircraft design. "If you make a plane ugly enough, the planet will not allow said airplane to touch the surface of the earth.... and thus it will fly."

Brace for impact, I'm in a "modifying mood". Massive thread count inbound.

The best I've been able to come up with to describe British Electrical Engineers is "Inventive", needlessly so, even when there's a perfectly good approach already, and then "defensive" where their design is going to stay, no matter what, and nobody can convince them otherwise.

The way the harness is woven it's almost impossible to move things around, add a couple good grounding points and re-route most of the non-core ground wires and the whole thing opens up dramatically allowing all kinds of fixes. I just ordered a pile of proper connectors and a good crimper from the guys at CBS so hopefully I'll be able to clean things up even more. Especially once I figure out what all the unused plugs are for.
