"Wanna sell it?" note collection

So I got another "If you ever wanna sell this, call me." note on my D90. Seems like these are getting more common as D90 (and 80's 911) prices continue to spike.

I'm thinking about starting a collection. Any of you guys keep your LR's love note's?

I usually call them and tell them the best places to look to find one themselves but have learned to not spend too much time on trying to help find them one, as most just wish they could have one rather than those who are willing to actually invest the time/money to buy one. I just say if they find one to feel free to forward it to me and I'll look at it for them as a second set of eyes.

I usually get people standing next to the truck asking if I want to sell it

99% of them have no clue of value

that's always the awkward part of the conversation because it's hard for me to mask my disdain for ignorant comments like "oh, wow! I could get two brand new Jeeps for that".
Now my standard line when people ask how much they cost is....
"Defenders are a lot like boats, you can buy a $15,000 Whaler/Grady etc. and you can buy a $150,000 Whaler/Grady"

I think the better response would be "then you'd have two jeeps. now piss off"

Actually, this is pretty awesome...about a week ago I had this woman come running up and ask to get a picture wit the truck.
She told me that ever since her and her family came back from an African safari, her 11 year old son is obsessed with Defenders. He's got about $200 saved so far she tells me.
Now that just puts a smile on my face!

Not sure that's a hard offer, but the intent to buy one is definitely there.

I've gotten 7 or 8 notes on the 110 over the last year or so.

x3 on people having no idea what even the ROW 110's cost...

Last weekend I came out of Target with my wife to find a guy who was sitting in his SUV blocking the parking lane waiting for whoever owned the 90 to come out...he explained that he had owned two 90's in his lifetime and really wanted another. Cool guy and offered to buy mine but I had to explain that a POS like mine is hard to come by!

Mine must be too ugly. Either that or I don't drive it enough.

I have gotten a couple of notes and they all look like they came from a grade schooler. All that is missing on these is a grade school style check box (please check yes if you want to sell).

My truck, prior to restoration, used to have people taking photos with it all the time, people think because it's old it's cheap...

I have never gotten a "I want to buy your rover" note. People must look at mine and assume I'm never gonna sell it, and rightly so.
