Do nothing, have VW take a $50k hit from .gov is another option. Pretty sure eeyore is getting sold back, but she has been a great car. 2011 JSW.

I'll probably sell mine back. If the charts they've posted are correct, I'll get more money back than I paid for it new.
How can you get more money from the buyback than what you paid for it new???

Because everyone gets the payment for the fraud or whatever it's called. And they buy back at the September 2015, minus any miles you've driven over the average between then and now, value. Mine was purchased in February of 2015, so it had not depreciated much. So the book value plus the penalty payment is more than I paid.

I agree. They (states) can easily flag these vehicles. Pressuring people to sell financially benefits the state's that have sales tax on vehicles.

My state counts a personal sale the same as a trade in, you only have to pay tax on the difference. I assume this would be the same deal, but I don't know for sure.

I had a thought, if I do keep it, and the fix is indeed a larger cat or some other fix (I don't have to do) then value of the last VW diesels might effectively increase after a year.

Supply and demand and all that

What year, model, miles, etc, if you don't mind saying.

I'm expecting my offer to be about $5,000 more than that.

It looks like I'm about 10 days away from an offer, according to the website. I guess I'll be daily driving a Land Rover soon.

I've had a road trip or two since I first ran the estimator, but if the first number is a 2, I'll be happy.

Picked up a 14' 3.0 TDI last month. Waiting for the 'final' EPA ruling on Dec 1. Appears the initial 21,000 of the 85,000 total 3.0 TDIs delivered to the states will be repurchased. The balance w/ the urea system installed will be reflashed. This is consistent with the news I've been hearing for a few months.
Volkswagen TDI diesel buyback may extend to Audi and VW V6 models

I guess I'm still not within that 10 business days window. Mine has said the following for about 2 months now on the claims.vwgoa.com site:

"We have reviewed all of your documents. Currently, your application contains all the necessary documentation to determine your eligibility. We are now determining your eligibility and will inform you whether you are eligible to participate in the Settlement Claims Program and, if applicable, will provide you with a final offer, within ten business days."
