Unhappy Virginia Man Dies after Land Rover Falls On Him

Anyone we know? Not sure where Ruckersville is.

Please, everyone be careful and follow best practices when working with raised vehicles. This is the 2nd death in recent memory of this kind. I didn't know the guy but it saddens me nonetheless. Please make sure your rigs are properly supported and not using hokey bullshit to hold them up.

Ruckersville is about 20 miles north of Charlottesville on 29. Looks to be a white D1 from the following news video.

Several years ago the same shit happened to me.

I was removing the front locker from the truck.

I crawled out under it to get some tools and it fell within seconds of me clearing it.

My heart goes to his family.

Absolutely. Just passed that tidbit on to my brother when he was under his truck a few weeks ago with just the jack.

Quite a few people in the area knew him. In the local news pics he had 2 white D1s.

Very sad. I try to do work underneath with the wheels/tires on or if I need space drive it up the ramps.

I always get sketched when working underneath with jackstands - I usually shake the truck and make sure everything is stable. Might need to throw some timbers and wood stumps together and make a safety catch to wedge under the frame.

Jesus no...using just a floor jack is worse than jack stands. I've seen jack creep too many times.

Very sad. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
I need to get some timbers or something. Sometimes I get the creepers from being under jacks.
