Either way all newer SUV's are all starting to look Japanese like. Eventually the front and rear lights will be pulled into the doors if they keep dragging them down the body. The 2012 RR looks so good. I have no dog in the fight though, I would love to be able to afford a 2012 RR.

I stand corrected...I see the similarity, for sure. I'm sobbing at my desk

I try to stay away from the show rooms but am drawn to the older style. the last dealership I was at was in Va. 2+ years ago. I guess if I do buy one it'll be used, at least I'll save some money on it...

Same reason why the new Ford Fusion has the Aston Martin grill/front end. These corporate owners are liberally dipping into the parts bins of their higher end acquisitions, then dumping them off to new owners that will repeat the process.

I can only imagine how the new Tatas will look... LOL

This Ford Explorer commercial made me want to get an Explorer.

Reminds me of the OLD Land Rover commercials.

Barry... you opened yourself up for a joke but I am not going to say it cause I like you

My sales contact here in Dallas said the same thing...if they got a bonus allocation of 50 in, they'd all be gone in a weekend. I saw 6 or 7 of these today in my neighborhood, half of them white with smallish wheels (and it wasn't the same car over and over). I love Range Rovers, but I'm sorry to say that for a split second I really did think one was an Explorer. BUT...the black/black one with larger black factory wheels was a head-turner.

Wait... The explorer has terrain response as well? You'd think there would be a limit on how much they could copy.

The explorer looks like the Evoque not the RR. My wife is getting a 2013 Explorer as a company car (we are a GM/LandRover family) and they do look similar.

Evoque = Edge

I think we've talked about this somewhere... it's left over shared design when Ford owned Land Rover. Where's the thread that Tata is basing the new Rovers on minivans?

also a ton to do with aerodynamics. If youre shooting for fuel economy, then aero is the way to go. If everyone is trying to improve aero then things are all going to start looking the same. . As they are starting to do.

Here's an updated pic of the 2013 Autobiography the we had on the showroom... we just got it back with it's matte black 3M wrap... I'm on the fence... maybe if they blacked out the trim and wheels I'd like it more... what do you guys think?

I actually like it quite a bit. I love the matte look on most vehicles.

makes it look cheap ... I guess that's the kind of people attracted to the LR brand these days ...

People are already walking in the showroom and putting their fingers all over it... our manager is OCD about fingerprints on the showroom cars. Loving the red color in his face...

So, that's a wrap and not paint? How durable is it?
