Neil I agree there are some great parts of this town and there are alot of good people here and I still work in Venice, CA and I can tell you if i look out my office window right now I can see more crackheads and gang bangers in 5 minutes than exist in all of Maine. Just a personal choice about the lifestyle I want for my family. Not sure what Barack has to do with the quality of life in LA but he has my vote.

I have many reasons why I won't vote for BHO, but I'll narrow it down to these 3. He wants to tax the middle class who have been mistakenly categorized by him as "the rich". Socialized healthcare? Great, all the love of a state hospital with the care and attention of your local DMV. And we gotta pay for it. Does BHO care about your personal security of you and your family? Based on his 2nd Amend voting postions in the past, that would be a simple no, in that he believes your personal security should be left up to your local police department, because when seconds count, your police department is only minutes away. Although many would be unwilling to admit it, blacks, minorities and progressive liberals will vote for BHO simply because he is black. The rough areas here in Los Angeles are predominately occupied by blacks and latinos and many of them will be voting for BHO. Not a lot of BHO lovers in South Pasadena / San Marino.
Yeah I'm sorry but you gotta come up with a better reason than hope and change for my vote.

Im not even going to touch this. However, I will say I found myself preoccupied with personal security in LA. Guns, alarms, dogs. Ive had cars stolen and my home and cars broken into multiple times.

Life is different on the farm in Maine which is why I moved there. If you get past the two 130lb Cane Corsos that patrol property the keys of the 110 can be found in the ignitiion. "And thats the way life should be"

Sweet. I'll be there in an hour with two steaks. Don't get worked up if the 110 is missing...

If you can get used to the tough winters, than I'd say it go for it. But I like to party so that pretty much sums it up. Plus your rover will rust faster

Im from New England. Came out to LA and enjoyed it quite a bit when i was a single man but now married with kids priorities change. You"ll see

The corsos are females. And based on the amount of sightings on here Im not sure the truck would get too far without one of you guys spotting it

Not to mention its insured for more than I could probably sell it right now.

Come on, what do you expect? You're talking Venice! Of course there are crackheads and gangbangers. It is less than 20 miles from Compton...

To be fair, take a drive anywhere north of say, 19th St in SaMo or almost anywhere in 90210 and tell us you would have a problem raising a family there.

You've made your point - it's evident that you don't like L.A. That's why you moved to Maine. More power to you.

Follow-up Post:

Garth i wasnt trying to make a point. I just merely pointing out per this thread the difference of the reactions i have had to the 110 between the two places but if you asked me to make a list of pros and cons.

this might be on it

I still say no one is getting away from drugs, the only difference between the most affluent neighborhoods and the ghetto is the quality of the stuff!

hell yeah I felt it, I was sitting on the toilet and some shit water almost touched my butt. That alone was almost traumatizing, I drove to some of my properties to make sure the water heater / structural repairs I've done in the last few years are ok, so far so good.

I have a R380 and the 1st to 2nd has to be slow as to not make grinding noises. I'm faster than a tri-axel dump but slower than her slushbox Kia. She went by flipping me off and yelling stuff - I just shook my head and was like "WTF?"

2 lights later I caught up - I guess she made really fast time : And rolled by looking at her. She started up acting crazy again. All I was thinking - she must be going home or to work at some pretty shitty place in a really shitty car. It was a nice day - I had the top off the ST and was enjoying rowing the gears.

I really dislike small crapbox's w/ auto trannys.
+1 This happens to me all the time. A lot in the Defender but also when I'm in the Range Rover. I've always been a pokey driver (I'll get there when I get there type). I always joke with passengers who remark how slow I drive/accelerate and how I coast to stop lights that I'm getting Hypermileage in my Range Rover

I love the small crapbox's with auto trannys though...the more the masses feel like they need cheap high mpg cars or feel guilty and suffer depression for their carbon footprint the cheaper Land Rovers get. I figure at the current price drops over the last few months a low mileage still well under warranty '06 Range Rover HSE will be $25K. I have a client who picked up an '08 RR HSE Blk/Blk with 8,000 miles from one of the big ebay houses here in Houston last week for $57,000 (drive-out). Bring on the $5.00/Gallon gas...I'll be able to get a new Suburban for $10,000!

The one on the right is Britney, the one on the left (The one I like) is Whitney. Funny thing is, they didn't even know what the 110 was nor did they even ask, (except for the guy who rode with us) but they did know it was cool and that it stood out in Hollywood, especially in the 711 parking lot where we stopped so they could buy smokes. I need to upgrade the sound system, I still have the factory cassette deck and I hate having to enter the code into it just to listen to crappy fm. One thing that pissed me off is that guy who rode with us had his foot on the center console in the rear. I almost said "have a little respect buddy, you don't see me putting my feet up on your car" I kept my cool because I didn't want to create a scene plus the console has ripped on the rear corners anyway. The previous owner must of had a holes doing the same thing 10 years ago.

What color is the carrpet? In your 110 I mean. Or perhaps there isn't any. Easier to hose out and keep clean and such.

PS Have we always had this smiley? I am so down.
