Value of a defender 110

What is the best way to determine the value of a 110?

I have 24 of 25 Canadian 110 all original with 123k km / 76k miles on it

Thanks

By doing your research. Expect a little hit because it's not one of the 500 USA NAS 110s.

Search --> Advanced Search --> Keyword "Canadian 110" --> Classifieds --> For Sale - Vehicles

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...t=canadian+110

We have a few members here with CDN 110 trucks in the US, so you can see what they got theirs for, but the ones I've seen have all been in the $40's. Additionally, you'll need to know things like why you're selling it, how much rust it has, how stock it is, overall condition, etc. in order to make an accurate ad.

It would be worth less by being a Canadian one? I would prefer a Canadian one because of the additional heater.

It's just one of those things. It's not a huge hit, but at the same time it's not one of the 500. It's like when spirit makers push the additional surplus product for a high-caliber spirit out under a different name. Same thing, slightly different name. Take number 400 of 500 with 76k miles, and put it up against 24/25 with 123k km or 76k miles, and the 400/500 will likely sell for a higher amount more often than not here.

I don't think that is true or, if it is, you are talking about a very small spread. The trucks are the same and if you have documentation on the miles (with the speedo change to Miles from KM) I think you will be fine.

The big issue with NAS 110s is rust.

No rust, that is a $60-80k truck, rust, it is a $30-50k truck.

Yeah I'm not talking a huge spread (that's why I said a little hit earlier), but all of the CDN ones I've seen for sale in the US have been priced lower than NAS ones by a few thousand, and have taken a little longer to sell.

Can you give an example? I would go the other way. If you could find a Canada truck that is actually in good condition I would say it is worth slightly more than a NAS one. Same truck but part of a smaller run. Again I think with these trucks it comes down to condition and nothing else.

Provide examples where CDN went for more, please.

How do any of you know what the trucks sold for? You can see asking price and you can see eBay auctions. Neither of which may have anything to do with actual sale price.

You really just post for numbers. I was asking you for an example. What I posted was an opinion based on what I believe to be the uniqueness of the Canadian NAS 110s. Go back to your spreadsheet of tracking every sale that you aren't part of and show us some numbers.

You were asking me for an example on one side and I'm asking you for an example on the other side. Seems fair enough to me. I just posted a CDN truck earlier in the thread for $42k by a dealer who is known to frequently post NAS 110s for $100k+. It's going to be difficult to provide apples to apples comparisons on 30 year old trucks, but at least find me a CDN truck posted for sale for north of $90k like we've seen so frequently this year for NAS 110s. I can't recall any CDNs posted for sale north of the $40s - I could be forgetting one, so if I am, please provide.

Your findings though I think are based on condition and not it being a Canadian truck. Anyway here is one I'm sure is worth more than 40k

That's the worst example ever.

Love the Barry/ Josh exchanges. Why would there be any difference in value @ all given the trucks are exactly the same spec and all imported by the same newly formed (1992) Land Rover North America ?

I think the best way to answer this Canadian VS US version would be to ask those who currently own or have recently negotiated an NAS 110.

I'd pay $500 more for a Canadian 110 for the extra heater.

Prices vary from 30k-120k and they all depend on condition and buyer. I'd say Defenders are the hardest thing to put an actual value to without seeing it firsthand or having a potential buyer with a number in their head.

Is it that or the value of said item determined by supply/demand along with what a person is comfortable spending?
