nope. Heck my horn didn't work and I had a leaky diff. Granted the guy inspecting the truck was from pakistan and grew up with Rovers. But i can't see why they would make you reinstall them. they can only check what is on the truck and if its not on it they can't check it.

I'd take that thing out to a service center in Goochland and let them inspect it, I doubt they catch it. You can always say you bought it without them...works for cat. converters sometimes.

If you failed inspection, it's most likely marked on the rejection sticker why you failed -- pop them on, get it reinspected, take them off the next day and remember next year to take it to a different place. I know of several up here in Nova that don't even bother removing a wheel.

Here in sunny Arizona they don't inspect anything other than emissions in the 2 largest counties. Last week I saw a Pontiac Grand Prix with the entire front end wrapped in that packing wrap (Super-sized Glad Wrap).

Problem solved, I guess it is not what you know but who you know. A friend is going to put a sticker on this afternoon. I did take the rejection sticker off. I will be driving with no sway bars for a while longer so be careful if you see me on the road.
Signed

Same here in NY. I've seen guys that check nothing but the lights and emissions system..... and I've seen guys that pulls your wheels off to check the brakes as well as tracing the vacuum diagrams for the emissions systems.

A friend failed at some shop in Dulles for having leaking PS lines on his disco -- go figure. The next week my lwb passed at "my" place with a burnt out headlight. . .

Personally, I find the best shops (If you're a motorhead) are the ones that pass you, but also pull you to the side and explain "Hey, you should fix this".
