When I was little we were on a trip to D.C. and my father kept losing me only find me in the giftshop. Duane came form a rather animated black guy in DC yelling down the block to his friend.. having lived at that time in an all white community I was fascinated by him. So my father gave me that nickname. He's been up and down with cancer for awhile and I see it as an homage to him and a lot of lost time in between some 30 years later.

I was a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) in the Air Force and the first two letters of my last name.

It ain't rocket surgery.

John, that's one hell of a boat.

Sloanfiske was a band name floated out 20 years ago. Used it for an email and BBS stuff back then. I probably should grow up, but what the hell. My name is below it on here...so there you go.

Blackfield was a work group that needed a nondescript name. Blank field was already used.

I was a Fiji in college. First part is obvious so I got it as a nickname and I just kept it because it is easy to find me anywhere on the Internet and know it is me.

Mine is not that hard.

I have been known to drive big red trucks and squirt hoses in anger. (more or less)

(... and "IDRIVEASTAGEONEANDAMCOOLERTHANALLYOUGUYS" was too many letters.)

When I was a kid I hated my first name and loved the Chuck Norris movie Lone Wolf McQuade. I pleaded with my parents to change my name to Wolf. Didn't work. Hannibal didn't stick either, and McGuiver was too hard for a 8 year old to spell.

So at least my fabrication business got the name.

I tried to convince my wife to name our first born Wolf, but that didn't work either.

As for my avatar and screen name - Sterling Malory Archer, the worlds greatest secret agent.
