I think "weren't" would be a better choice of words - not sure they're even in business anymore.

If you want to add to that count I have a friend in Malibu who has an 88 in his garage that needs TLC before it goes anywhere and a 109 Dormobile that goes out on trips with me. He uses an econo car to get to the studio for work, but the dormie gets out a few times a year for trips of up to a month at a time.

And when you look at factory fuel mileage specs don't forget they are driving tdi's and that a British gallon is significantly larger than a US gallon.
