If that was a website event contact the credit card company and reverse the charge. Has to be someone in the area who can do a drive by on ULC

Just a heads up from someone who spent 30yrs in banking, a chapter 11 is meant to give a business breathing room for a re-organization. Its stops any and all collection efforts. Meaning if you expected a credit card refund etc you are sol unless the trustee says there are funds and its your turn in line. Not sure how that will work if your car is in the shop.

I gave honest feedback from my experience. I regret the positive recommendations that I gave based on my experience because after that most of the negative feedback surfaced. My truck was in and out in about six weeks. I can only think of the rusted motor case and the truck that kept needing more work that was probably a basket case from the start. I don't think there was enough posted information. I know folks chimed in on those threads with "you should see what they did on my truck" negative posts but no actual substance other than words. That's the type of shit that allows these places to stay in business. Look at GB4x4 for example. Occasional posts about how they were sketchy and didn't deliver quite as advertised yet nobody gave two shits until the seizures. This entire community repeatedly allows companies to walk all over itself.

They had tons of work in the shop last summer. I don't see how they could have not been making money except for maybe importing too many parts and spending too much money on business trips or just straight siphoning funds to management? I have no business experience but I understand concepts of spending too much money.

gB4x4 had a very scathing thread about them. The admins pulled it.

I can't confirm why but I thought it was because Aaron asked them to because it was hurting his business.

Not sure what you're talking about here. Even if it was deleted (or maybe just locked due to the name calling that eventually happens in some of these threads) there are still plenty of threads here on ULC, Aaron, GB4x4, etc for someone to make an educated decision on whether or not to do business with any one of them.

Are you kidding me? It was deleted. It was before the site was bought and they gave you your special powers.

I know people that have the thread cached somewhere.

I wish I hadn't seen this coming. Luckily I lost hope in ULC in time to dispute and force a resolution. I'm sorry for all the remaining guys that are trapped there now, waiting for a judge to decide their resolution.

If they emerge from chapter 11 are members here going to run back for more whatever you want to call it?????? Probably is my guess. After Ceylon's experience and my own previous experiences I was done a long time ago and saw a disaster of some type coming down the tracks.

Sure but you seeing it really wasn't the point. The point was there was a big thread about him. It had nothing to do with importing though just about his sketchy sales Others can chime in if they want. his famous ebay line went something like:

I wouldn't hesitate to drive this cross country.

Half his turds blew up outside his dealership.

------ Follow up post added June 6th, 2015 08:11 AM ------

My point was as a community there was warnings but for some reason in that case the admins took it down.

With urban there have been warnings but unfortunately I bet not all his customers know about this site.

I disagree. The Fair Credit Billing Act will help anyone with a credit card if they used the card and didn't receive the merchandise. Chapter 11 may keep the credit card company from getting money back from ULC, but not you.

The first thing anyone should do is dispute the charge with their credit card company. There are plenty of times when a credit card company will just eat the charge and refund your money regardless. If charges for goods or services were not received by the consumer, if charges for goods were not delivered as agreed, then dispute the charge. That is the purpose of the Fair Credit Billing Act.

I've never pulled a thread because it was hurting someone's business, and certainly not the chiropractor Aaron.

The only thing I can say is that all of this just hurts the community. All the bad business practices AND all the name calling and bitching on a public forum.

All that is happening is people are getting hurt:
- people loosing money and in some cases trucks
- people losing businesses
- the community losing support and tech know how

I see it all just sliding away for the good of no one.

The point of this or any forum is to discuss the good and the bad to help others. Posting isn't going to stop people from making bad choices as businesses or customers but at least with it out there we tried to help or stop it from happening again.
