Tuffy Overhead Console

Has anybody installed one of these in a D90? Without cutting up the truck?

What are you wanting to use it for?

Need to mount a CB and I like the idea of putting it up there out of the way. I have some ideas on how to mount it, just wanted to see if anybody else had already done it to save me re-inventing the wheel so to speak.

Ok. I don't have one but a buddy and I cut a metal plate to fit between the center two screws that hold the header bar inplace then mounted the CB to that plate.

There is a company in the UK i believe that sells an overhead unit console that goes from front to back between the driver and passenger. Devon 4x4 is the place.

Hi Tyler. If I don't get the overhead to fit then that is most likely something like what I will end up doing. Prefer the console though if I can get it to work.

William, I have seen those before and they are pretty cool. Not sure they will fit a soft top though as I think they need the roof panel.

I have the Tuffy on order so I will see how I get on. If I make it work then I will post a write up in case anybody is interested.

It may be the tuffy one you are talking about. Maybe you could modify one that is meant for a Jeep, seem to see all kinds of overhead storage devices for ragtop jeeps.

I found an old thread from a guy who put one onto a D90. He drilled holes in his Window frame and roll bar padding though. Planning to try something different that hopefully won't require me to do that. If it means cutting or drilling the truck I will probably can the idea.
