TriBeCa Landrovers - pickup

... love the fact it still carries a UK plate!

Also saw someone in a white ST driving down the west side highway as I was driving out of town this morning ... so happy to have a SW today!

Missing the ever important yellow rear plate. I like the piece of five bar covering the big dimple where the tailgate was dropped on the trailer hitch.

Jason do you live in Williamsburg? I was pulling a Neil with some girl there this summer and I kept seeing a stock white sw on her block. Now that is over so I'm never in the area anymore.

The red Hi cap just made the trip up North from Red Mountain rovers in AL. Looks a lot better with the wax job, new tires and fresh white rims!

That would be the Triangle Beneath Canal street. Why they named a Subaru after it, I have no idea.

Because it looked like vag... you know... triangle? haha. ok that was bad.

I don't think I met you at Ricardos ever. I met one guy there but he drove a 50s Austin Healey cab. never met a Defender guy there before.

Just noticed the red 130 doesn't seem to have any US plates at all ... interesting to see how the parking people issue a ticket!

Daniel - I met someone with a green defender at Ricardo's once ... just assumed he was local. Then assumed it was you. apologies!

Perhaps we should have a NY defender meetup sometime?

Follow-up Post:

Photo of mine on the same block just for good measure!

Many areas in NYC have abbreviations ... mainly dreamt up by real estate agents pushing over price condos!

Was that taken on Leonard? That's just a couple blocks away from my apt! I walk past there every day on my way to work.

Don't know when you bought yours, but did you buy it from a dude in Newport? Saw this one up there earlier this summer when I had a place. Yours before you bought it?

Yep ... Leonard is the centre of the Defender activity this weekend!

and yes its the same truck from the photo although i've done quite a bit to it since ... Galv rear x-member, new seats, new rad, new e-codes, new switch gear, new windshield ... just putting together my shopping list for the next parental visit from the UK.

interestingly it doesn't have the A-Bar or rear light guards any more ..

Wow, Jason that's hilarious! Who'd have thought it would end up so close! I remember when I saw it for sale in the shipyard up in Newport. I almost didn't put two and two together, because of that new galv x-member. Keep up the good work!

You're all welcome to have your NYC get-together at West Point on the 19th!

I met up with Jorge today and we are planning to come up and help out. Let me know if you need me to bring anything. I usually have all my tools in the back storage bins.

Dan, what's your backseat looking like? Full? I'll be the only novice there, but it might be good practice.
