Yes most European transactions require a pin as well. They're far ahead. The fear stateside is that people will be upset and the cost of upgrading POS systems will be prohibitive

I really wanted to like the Trayvax, but just wasn't happening. In their effort to make it cool I think they missed the point about simplicity. If I wanted to sit on a brick any old bifold would work. Grocery bags already come with handles. If I absolutely need to open a beer my wedding ring will work. If I go hiking my wallet stays safely buried in my pack.
If they lost all the gimmicks and just did the aluminum case I might like it.
I've been using one of these for about 13 years now. Some of the stitching is frayed and the leather over the clip is worn off, but I love it. (And it wasn't $65 when I bought it)

At least around here, the stores are all upgrading their POS stations with chip capable CC readers.

Have been through tsa 3 times without incident. Fourth time and well not so lucky, flagged for further inspection and the tsa officer had to get approval from her boss to let it through, which did ultimately happen. However it ended up as a 15min delay.

I haven't dared try TSA yet...stupidity oozes from their check points. It's a good carry, it's different for sure.

It is a cool wallet, no problems with tsa. Just wish the velcro was quieter. I feel like a kid when I rip the velcro apart in a restaurant, doctors office, etc.
