Transfer case stuck

So heres one for y'all....

I took my 97 Disco 1 to a local shop to get work done. I had it towed over to them, the TC was in neutral and the (automatic) tranny in neutral. I got there to pick it up and the TC lever was in the N position and i was able to put it in all of the gears and go. problem is that it is stuck in low. The shifter will not move to low or high, just side to side to lock the diff (Im fairly confident that it didnt, but the light came on!!!) The mechanics that were there were at a loss as to what it could be, and that they didnt do anything with the TC/transmission.

Thoughts?

TYIA

so that would be why my TC/CDL shifter is in the N pos but in low? i would think it was the solenoid if it was in either the low or high pos.

As a side note: never tow your truck with the auto trans in neutral, you'll destroy it. T-box in N, trans in park

Its under this plate. Pull the 4 bolts, there is snap ring holding the solenoid in place, pull it and the solenoid. then get 'the right stuff' and reseal the plate.

The offending bastard.
