I think it is a given, no better honoring the quest than exchanging the trailer to a rover

You guys are great in the super ideas department

I don't mean to bust in on the love-fest, but realistically....
I've got a car that my dad owned. Its like family. Probably a lot like this 90 is to the Harris family. If for some reason I had to let that car out of my sight I might (might) let a transporter move it. I would not and could not allow myself to see that vehicle moved on a trailer moved by unknown folks across an entire country.

Sounds fun and all, but might not be the right thing to put the family through. It would be more likely that they would sleep better knowing the 90 is tucked in safe and sound somewhere with an insured professional carrier. These folks have enough on their plate already.

Just my .02

Probably right but it is nice people want to get together and meet to transfer the baton.

We plan to give the family some time and then we will go up there and see how brad left it. Personally I would like it to be sent however it sits now but I have no idea how realistic it is to ship a truck without an axle.

We have gathered 300 since the check was written.

I didn't log on last night, so I missed the progression of this tread. It's amazing to see everyone come together like this. The amount raised is really impressive!

A belated donation has been made through one of ECR's parts ads.

My thoughts are with the Harris family.

Mike

BTW the ECR sales have been a tremendous help. The donation of parts and the pain of having to ship them all is much appreciated.

I agree with Mike. There's also the issue of cross-country shipping which--whatever way you look at it--is going to cost someone money. Perhaps it is better to donate this money to the Harris family than spend it on a cross-country haul that they may not want or need.

I'm in the LA area monthly for my Army Reserve duty and I'd love to spend a couple weekend nights helping wrench. The truck looks in good shape and I'm sure that we could knock out any sort of axle issue in an evening, even a full swap.

Well I still think it going to ecr would have been brads dream so if we can get an axle under it and get it there that would be ideal.

All of these ideas are great. I think that Brad would be happy just knowing we're trying to find a way to get the truck back up and running for his son. Whatever the plan is, it will be a good thing no matter what.

Hopefully Barry and I will be able to get up to Brad's house soon and asses the truck and see where we stand.

Guys, don't drop a GREAT idea so easily. Try the tow relay idea on the west-east path, once the truck is fixed, ship it.

Aww shucks who let the adults into the room? No one is giving up on it yet. We are probably getting ahead of ourselves so we should see what the family wants. Brad was an adventurous guy and I bet he would be thrilled with this idea. Of course we will need to take the necessary steps to make sure the truck is properly insured and protected but it never needs to be "out of their sight" We just did a show with a friend of mine in a solo sailing race around the world and with the wonders of modern technology we were able to follow him every step of the way......

Sorry for the delay Barry, I just sent a donation via paypal, hope it helps.
I didn't know him personally but, this response alone shows what type of guy he was.

For all we know, Brad may have finished everything but the brakes, which we all know Barry can handle on his own with some brake cleaner.

Love waking up to money in my account. Too bad it isn't for screens. I think you need them this time of year! Kidding but we are up to 850!!!

Sorry.

Don't get me wrong, it would be a cool movie if you can make it all happen. I'd buy a copy.

I'm in for a towing leg, but I'm bringing my F350.

If you are towing with a Ford Mike, I am towing the Midwest section with a Dodge.

Ha

Maybe Brad is still getting his D90 source in the afterlife. Hope it makes him happy to see everyone here reach out to him.
