Tragic Discovery

I was walking through the training lot at the fire academy today. This is where they store old cars that are to be used by the training center to teach rookies how to use the jaws of life and other assorted destructive life saving tools.

Seeing this Disco 1 in the line was sad. While the body is a little "scuffed up", it still carries a 4.0 and complete drive train. The seats did not even look that worn.

Alas, it is all destined to the scrapper. County government rules make it almost impossible to legally remove any parts from these vehicles.

(Sigh)

I've seen quite a few P38's and D1's at the scrapyard, i once saw an FJ40, it was beyond shot though, i took the badges.

It's the cycle of life, in 10 years I'm sure LR3's will start going there, and I'm sure the L322 isn't too far from heading there.

The Academy is next to the jail, State Police barracks and the National Guard Armoury...

Plus the parking lot is well lit. Any midnight parts runs would probably have an unfortunate outcome.
